About Our Director - Krista Debler

Krista Debler, OTR/L, is the Owner and Director of Out East Therapy of NY. She is a registered occupational therapist who first earned her degree in Medical Rehabilitation at Springfield College, MA in 1991. She went on to study Occupational Therapy as part of the graduate program at the University of Southern California.

In addition to her pediatric experience, Krista has worked extensively with adults in a neuro-rehabilitation setting. She also served as a burn therapist at the Bothin Burn Center in San Francisco.

Krista is a Board Certified Occupational Therapist, licensed in both New York and California. She is listed as an approved provider of occupational therapy services in both Nassau and Suffolk County. Krista has completed the Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) certification course, has received advanced training in sensory integration and has been certified by Sensory Integration International to administer the Sensory Integration and Practice Test (SIPT). Krista is an approved provider of early intervention services according to the requirements of the New York State Department of Health. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, and the New York State Occupational Therapy Association, and is a provider of therapy services for the New York City Board of Education.

Krista continues to demonstrate her dedication to the health and well-being of others through volunteer efforts on a local and international level. In 2001—in response to the El Salvador earthquake—she volunteered with the Committee of Health Rights in the Americas to help set up medical clinics in small villages that were otherwise impassable for weeks.

Krista offers internship programs with Out East Therapy of NY for students who are currently studying to become therapists, and also mentors students from the local high school.
